M. K. Nair,

faculty-photo_nairDr. Nair trained at the University of North Carolina in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, following which he became board certified. He also completed a Master’s and PhD in Radiology at Göteborg University, Sweden, following board certification. He is also fellowship trained in Medical Radiology Informatics from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He was a member of the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh for several years as Director of Radiology. He currently serves as Chair of Oral and Maxillofacial Diagnostic Sciences, with joint appointments at the Colleges of Dentistry and Medicine at the University of Florida. He has served on the Executive Council of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, as well as on the ADA DICOM standards Working Group. He is currently the Group Program Chair of Diagnostic Sciences with the IADR/AADR. He serves as a reviewer for several journals, is a member of the editorial board of peer reviewed journals, and continues to hold memberships in organizations such as the Radiologic Society of North America, Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine, and the ADA. His research interests include 3D imaging, radiology informatics, image processing, and applications of complex imaging techniques in head and neck radiology. He has also served on special emphasis panels of the NIH, and won mentorship several awards for research mentoring.
